This guide will help you understand why duplicate profiles are sometimes created and how you can remove one of them.

Why are duplicate profiles created?

Before creating a new crew member, we recommend doing a quick search for the crew member to see if they have a profile within your Workspace already. 

Duplicate profiles are created by setting up a new profile for a crew member who is already in your Workspace, but doesn't yet have a Crewdentials account. 

How do I remove duplicate profiles?

The duplicate profiles will have different link icons beside their profile photo (or profile icon). 

  • Keep the profile which has the green link icon
  • Archive any profiles with the grey link icon

Before archiving any duplicate profiles with the grey link icon, please carry out the following steps:


Check personal details

Review all duplicate profiles and ensure the profile you wish to keep is fully populated with up to date data.


Check Documents

Review all duplicate profiles and ensure the profile you wish to keep is fully populated with the documents you wish to keep for the crew member.


Change email address

On the duplicate profiles you're looking to archive, change the email address to something anonymous like [email protected].  


After carrying out these actions, you can archive the unwanted duplicate profiles.
